LiveUp Counseling's Elder Care Program
Delivering compassionate, on-site mental health services for older adults
The Elder Care Program at LiveUp Counseling is dedicated to helping older adults maintain emotional well-being, feel connected, and thrive within their communities. By providing specialized support right where people live and gather, we remove many of the barriers that prevent seniors from getting the help they need.
What We Offer
Our team brings mental health care directly to senior centers, retirement communities, and assisted living facilities, making it easier than ever to receive support.
Services include:
Individual and group therapy for depression, anxiety, grief, loneliness, and building cognitive resilience.
Support for caregivers and families, including education on mental health in later life.
Specialized interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), social skills enhancement, and grief counseling.
The Need for Elder Mental Health Support
Mental health challenges in later life are more common than many realize:
In the U.S., up to 25% of adults aged 65+ experience anxiety or depression, yet less than half receive treatment.
In the past year, 12.5% of U.S. older adults had a mental illness, with 1.9% experiencing serious mental illness. Only about 46% of those received treatment.
Social isolation affects roughly 24% of older Americans (around 9 million people) and is linked to increased risks of depression, cognitive decline, and even mortality.
Why This Matters
These numbers highlight a clear reality:
Mental health concerns among older adults are both common and impactful.
Barriers to treatment—such as stigma, limited mobility, and access issues—prevent many from receiving the help they need.
Social isolation worsens mental health risks, yet regular, on-site services can provide the connection and outreach that make a difference.
How the Elder Care Program Helps
Our approach directly addresses these challenges:
Improved access by bringing therapy into older adults’ daily environments.
Early detection and intervention to prevent symptoms from worsening.
Reduced isolation through consistent, community-based engagement.
Family and caregiver support to promote holistic and sustainable well-being.
Moving Forward
LiveUp Counseling’s Elder Care Program bridges the gap between mental health needs and treatment for older adults—delivering care in the places where it will have the greatest impact.
